The Kiss of The Night As the sun descends
beyond the horizon, The lips of the night ripen
with glistening stars As it lays upon the
earths edges, it waits for the shimmering ball
of the devil to return to its flaming
underworld A quilt of darkness, embroidered
with glowing white beads covers the bright sky of
day, calmness echoes over the valley of the
nights kiss. As the lips of the night leave
their mark of the fluorescent circle the gates of
heaven open to the night. by Christopher Tully

- If Only
- It all started when we moved,
- When a problem got out of hand,
- I was losing control like a wave through the
sand. -
- So, I started a new sheet,
- At a school just down the road,
- I hoped itd be different and I wouldnt be that
ugly toad. -
- I tried to be friendly,
- But people are all the same,
- To be famous, glamorous, rich. thats just their
aim. -
- They dont want variety,
- Theyre all clones if you ask me,
- You have no choice to be different, youre just
not free. - First, it was just name calling and comments,
- They started to follow me home,
- I found a different way,
- But that made me late every-single-day.
-
- My must asked what was wrong,
- I said I was alright,
- I felt ashamed I couldnt battle through my own
fight. - Then it got even worse,
- They caught up with me one day,
- And took my mobile, money and everything I had
away. - They made it clear they wanted more,
- I was scared I tried to stay home ill from
school, - But dad wasnt buying it, he told me to stop
acting like a fool. - They were angry I came empty-handed,
- I got beaten up, my knee was bleeding like mad,
- They left me in a dark alley, all alone and very
sad. -
4- I didnt want to get hurt again,
- I borrowed some money from mums purse,
- This cant be any sort of lesson, it much be a
curse! -
- I feel a pit of guilt deep in my heart,
- Mum found out she had missing money,
- I denied it, but this is too serious now, this
problem, its really not funny! -
- Couldnt take anymore money, was being very
closely watched, - Was terrified at school, I couldnt even speak,
- Now I know Im not normal, I really am a freak!
- The bell rang!
- I started running home
- As fast as my feet can carry me
- Theyre too close behind!
- Oh god! Please save me!
- NO! Im surrounded!
- I try to call for help, but no sound leaves my
lips, - They start swearing words I never even heard
before, - I try to fight back, but I cannot move anymore.
-
- One of them
- They reach down
- Theres something there
- Deep in their pocket they pull out a knife
- I squeeze my eyes shut
- And curl up tight I knew what would happen now..
- If only I had told someone
- Perhaps, Id still be alive,
- And Id have never had to come that close to a
knife -
- Id done the wrong thing and now I pay the price,
- Not for being different! Thats not why Im gone,
- But for letting bullies and fear spoil all the
fun.
5- Imagination
- Imagination is an amazing thing,
- It can bring a smile to your face,
- Or a tear to your eye,
- And you can take it where ever you go.
-
- It is like a personal diary,
- That you can always reach out and find,
- No matter where you are,
- Your imagination is always by your side.
-
- Your imagination will take you on journeys,
- From a boiling hot desert,
- To a cold arctic scene,
- Your imagination will take you right there.
-
- And when you read a book,
- Your imagination will help you see,
- The characters, the landscape,
- A New View
- I have to go to school nearly every single day.
- Oh I wish I could go home, Youll often hear me
say. - But then I heard something that made me stop and
think, - It made my feelings tumble. It made my heart
sink. -
- For some children in Africa dont have to go to
school - At first I thought, Lucky them. But now I feel
a fool. - Instead they have to work for very little pay
- Its not even enough to feed them every day.
-
- And some walk around, with nothing on their feet,
- Poor working conditions leave them without a
seat. - If you think of this for a minute its really
quite absurd - And wishes of going to school are all too often
heard. -
- Now I have an education and privileged I feel,
- I know I should be grateful for every single
meal. - And how I really wish that this story wasnt true
6- My Auntie
- On one fine morning I went downstairs to hear,
- That my auntie was in hospital that brought me a
tear, - Inside me my feelings had burnt down inside,
- I went to my room, curled up and cried,
-
- As the tears dripped down my pale face,
- I thought to myself, heres the start of the
race, - I hoped and hoped that the best will come
through, - I really just didnt know what to do,
-
- All I knew was that her heart had stopped,
- I used a tissue, my tears I mopped,
- As the day drew to a sad end,
- My bad thoughts were driving me up the bend,
-
- Suddenly we got a quick phone call,
- She is now fine, but I started to bawl!

- Fly Catcher
- Sitting in the jungle looking for flies
- When a tiger came next to me eating pork pies,
- So I went to the park and nobody was there
- So I shout out to everybody, come see the
bears! - No way mate, Im far to slow
- Quick hurry up before you miss your go!
- Only people who can hop and skip can come to the
jungle to catch a fly that has tricks - by Alice Barnard 7SGD

7- Summer
- I love summer time, sipping lemonade with lime,
- with my friends having fun, making sure our tan
is done. - All day long the sun is shining, you ignore the
children whining. - Just the taste of cold ice cream, puts you in a
summers dream. - No one enjoys it as much as me, time off school
which means were free ! - By Katie Bauermeister 7JPM
-
- Summer
- Summer - the sun high in the sky - with the birds
flying by, - The dripping of the ice creams, as the scorching
sun beams. - Hottest temperatures since records began,
- Everybodys getting a tan,
- The stickiness of sun cream,
- As the scorching sun once again beams.

Summer Time Poem I can smell the sea from a mile
away, Im just checking in my bag what I have
today, Thankfully were nearly there, The wind
is messing up my hair. Ive laid out my towel
and put on my lotion, I cant wait to go and
swim in the ocean, But first I need to change
into my swim wear, Im getting hot from the
really humid summer air. My bones are aching
from swimming all that way, At least the sky
isnt grey, Now I have to put on more lotion and
bathe in the sun, Ive now lost the page of the
book Id just begun. Now Im going shell
searching they have to be pretty, I couldnt
find many which is a pity, Im going collecting
loads of large stones, Then I can throw them
into the sea along with the fish bones. This is
my trip to the beach its the same every time I
go there! By Holly Earley 7JTL

-
- The Crabbersnap
- A creature came into my house one day,
- The Crabbersnap with his name,
- He looked ever so cruel,
- for something so small,
- But he was actually quite tame.
- It had the ears of a rabbit,
- And loved playing Monopoly,
- The wings of a bat, the fur of a cat
- And surprisingly didnt cause a catastrophe!
- It had the tail of a kangaroo,
- And the hairy legs of a spider,
- It had the beak of a paraqueet,
- And the fangs of Count Dracula!
- It talked completely jibberish,
- And liked playing on my dance mat,
9- In My Head
- In my head I hear a humming,
- Summer, summer summers coming.
- Soon, I hope my school is going to end.
- Oh my, summers just round the bend!
- Day by day the problems growing,
- We dont know yet where the sun is glowing.
-
- It comes and goes basically every year,
- Summer is a time when most people have no fear.
- Children playing and making castles out of sand
- While life goes on, getting a bit out of hand.
- It gets light early and dark really late.
- I like summer because you get to celebrate
- Celebrate the sun and loath the rain
- Come on summer please come again
-
- In my head I hear a humming,
- Summer, summer summers coming,
- Summer
- A sky so blue and bright,
- The warmth of the sun holding me tight.
-
- Flowers vivid, growing big and small,
- Yellow sunflowers giants are so tall
-
- Big bumble bees and insects of the wing, loads
of birds in chorus sing. -
- So hot we head for the beach, the sea, we can
run, play, splash, - We are free.
-
- Ice cream so sweet and cold,
- Drinks so chilled theyre hard to hold.
-
- So we sit back, relax and watch the sun go down,
- That happens at a very late time now
- Summers in town.

14- The Terror of Cybermen
- Skin of metal,
- And the body that will never age or ever die,
- With a heart that will never sob or ever sigh,
- They are merciless for people of innocence or

pleasd, - They are not of this universe,

- They take people from their homes,
- Then take the brain and can it,
- They one day saw a mighty sphere
- Break the rift of universes,
- They fought a very mighty war killing with no
mercies, - The fought against aliens called Daleks,
creatures of war and hate, - But they both got sucked back in a void, what a
nasty fate! - Some survived and fell back in time into a
Victorian Christmas. - They joined forces with Miss Hartigan who was
merciless. - They made a plan to upgrade the Earth with a
Cyberking - A giant and armed ship walking on legs, it was a
nasty thing.

27Sometimes Sometimes I wonder why Im with
you Sometimes I ponder, is this true? For so long
Ive been left alone and finally, Ive found my
home. Sometimes I wonder why youre with me. Do
you feel its meant to be? Questions linger in
your stare, but in my heart, Im not quiet Yet
day to day, my passion grows, The longing for
your touch, it shows. So many colours in my heart
Was how I felt right from the start. Dont be
fooled by ignorance, Im still adjusting to this
sense of closeness, love and happiness. My mind
still tried to sort this mess, forgive me if I
push you away, just know that I want you to

28Pain She wears a face of lies and laughter, She
covers up her deep disaster, She pretends shes
happy so they cant see, She wants and truly
needs to be free, She does not answer, When they
ponder, She runs and hides, And drowns her
cries, She cant kill the pain, She finds it hard
to cover shes insane, She writes these words
with deep thought, She feels shes lost
everything which she fought, She walks around
scared, Her problems unshared, She covers her
face, She goes at her own pace. By Lauren Roach

29 My heart is fragile, Labelled Handle with

Untitled Everythings a mess, Disaster has struck,
I need a little help coz Im all out of
luck Felt like I was on top of the world, Like
I was my own four leafed clover, But those
leaves fell one by one, Now my luck is
over Everything my heart once cared for,
Every time I began to hope, Is lost in the
chaos, Or laying here, broke. I was always
optimistic, Tried not to be judgemental, But
Im losing my balance, Think Im going mental.
30Untitled Ive lost everything, to gain one thing,
Finding money for food is a challenge, Stealing
being my only option for life. Time ticks slow,
trickling by, Like a tap, turned off by a
weakened child. Dont worry, Ill be fine, Not
that you would worry anyway, No-one knows me
anymore, Ive just lost contact, But did you know
me back then? Do you miss me now Ive gone? I
havent slept in so long, nights are endless,
Just staring at the pavement all night long.
But when I do, I dream of Death himself, Taking
me away to a better place. The kind of place
where you have a roof over your head.
Following your voice, Left me disorientated,
battered bruised. When I realised it was all my
head, And you were not there beside me as I had
thought, But miles away, forgetting about me, as
you did on my birthday. I miss my family, not
that they miss me. Love became a strange place,
my life collapsed. I ran, far and fast away from
you. Dont worry, its happened before, But Ill
give you one last chance. By Jack Skilling

31Depression a silent battle and a silent cry She
tries to make it through each painful day Even
though she knows she cant A silent battle and a
silent cry Things never change She looks in the
mirror and looks at the person she
hates Agonising tears fall down her hidden
face Eyes so dark, so mysterious and full of
pain Every dark and hollow day always the
same Putting on fake smiles and laughs while
shes bleeding inside Its a TV show and shes
the actress She was asked how she was, she said
she was fine, she lied She cuts herself, she
slits herself, she slices herself Again and
again Again and again And again and again Till
the flowing red liquid pours down her wrist and
leaves her scars to dry Till shes numb and
escaping from despair Sinking more into sadness,
darkness and isolation She doesnt care anymore,
she doesnt care Sinking into what you call
depression She hears them all laugh and
gossip She sees them all talk and stare They
judge, they laugh, they talk, they dont care
about her
She tries to pretend theyre not there She tries
to clock them out and carries on numbing her
hurt Leaving the world behind The reality fading
away into emptiness like her Her and her sharp
healing razorblade The blood stained medicinal
razorblade The music playing in her ears with the
lyrics to her life Block it out, block, it out,
block this painful life out Everyone oblivious to
realise this vulnerable girls state Its the
depression that puts her through so much
pain Its the depression that rips her soul and
breaks her apart day by day Its the depression
that makes her throw in the towel Its the
depression that makes her feel so alone Its the
depression thats left her empty and dry Its the
depression that makes her carve that sharp
razorblade through her tender wrist Its the
depression that makes every living day hell Its
the depression that makes her hate herself. Its
the depression that makes her want to commit
suicide Its the depression, its the
depression Her silent battle and her silent
cry Depression has taken over. Save a life

32Love Is Love is when You talk to each other,
Not get beaten up By her big brother. Love is
when you Kiss and cuddle, And take the
rap Whens she is in trouble. Love is when You
take her to lunch, Not get angry And shout and
punch Love is when you Respect her wishes And
help her clean All the dishes.
Love is when you Buy her flowers Not leaving her
Waiting for hours and hours So this poem is
about keeping your loved one and dont lose them
like I have done. So if you love someone Dont
go and boast Put your arms around them And keep
them close. By Jamie Runciman 10MLC
