Judaism

• Abraham followed a voice with his flocks and
  family.
• The founding leader is Abraham
• They were monotheistic. There holy book was the
  Torah. They believed in the 10 commandments.
• One is born into Judaism, but some convert.

Christianity

• Jesus came and spread Christianity by preaching
  his messages.
• The founding leader of Christianity is Jesus. He
  had 12 disciples that spread his message.
• Christians are monotheistic, believe in the 10
  commandments, and the Holy Bible.
• Most Christians are baptized.

Islam

• The origin is the pilgrimage to Mecca and
  Muhammad.
• The founding leaders are Muhammad and the people
  from the pilgrimage.
• The basic principles are Muhammads beliefs which
  are the 5 pillars of Islam.
• People were born Islamic.
• The 5 Pillars of Islam
• 1There is no god but god and Muhammad
• 25 daily prayers
• 3They must give charity to the poor
• 4Muslims must fast during the 9th month of there
  calendar
• 5A pilgrimage and a hajj must be made to Mecca

Buddism

• The origin is Little Buddha established Buddhism
  in 4th century B.C.
• The founding leader is the Little Buddha (Sadarta
  Gwatama)
• They believe in The Four Noble Truths and The
  Noble Eightfold Path. There ultimate goal is
  enlightenment.
• They have to convert into Buddhism

Hinduism

• The origin is that they believed in the Aryans
  beliefs
• There are no founding leaders of Hinduism. It is
  unknown.
• Basic principles The Rig-Veda is a collection of
  hymns. It is sacred to Hindus.
• The caste system is a life long social group that
  the Hindus had.
• They have to be born into Hinduism.
• This is the oldest religion in the world

Confucianism

• The origin is the writings of Confucius
• The founding leader is Confucius
• The basic principles are peace and harmony
• People had to chose to follow his writings to
  become a part of Confucianism
• One of his writings is that when you go out
  treat everyone as if you were welcoming a great
  guest

Taoism/Daoism

• The origin is that Laozi supported Taoism
• The founding leader was Laozi
• The basic principle is to teach the long life key
  to happiness
• They have to convert into Taoism
