Rococo was born in France in the middle of the
18th century.
It was a reaction of nobility against classical
baroque which had been imposed at Versailles by
Louis XIV.

It is a style of the aristocracy it reveals a
taste for what is clear and elegant, refined and
gallant. It fits to a life without worry,
agreeable and closely related to nature.

"rocaille" (stones) and "coquille" (shell),
elements which inspire the first designs.
