BRAC Impacts
  • Will be able to continue 95 of current surgical
    workload on Same Day Surgery basis
  • The Ambulatory Surgery Center (Same Day Surgery)
    continues at current or higher levels of
    productivity
  • Funding provided by NARMC to renovate Recovery
    Area, improving appearance, efficiency, and
    throughput
  • All surgical patients will be released within 23
    hrs 59 min
  • Langley, Portsmouth, and civilian hospitals ready
    and willing to accept our complex and acute cases
    requiring inpatient stay
  • The biggest change will be the name
  • McDonald Army Health Clinic
  • The inpatient services will remain active until 5
    May 2006

Dining Facility Status
  • Instead of closing, the MCACH full service dining
    facility will convert to a food court
  • Anticipated completion date of the renovation is
    scheduled for 4th quarter, FY06
  • Renovation for dining facility funded by Army
    Medical Command

Impacts on Outpatient Services
  • New Specialty Services being added
  • Gastro Clinic currently seeing patients
  • Pain Management Service planned (recruiting)
  • No reduction in any of the current medical
    specialties (i.e., surgeons, internists, etc.)
  • No changes in the pharmacies
  • Primary Care provider staffing will remain the
    same
  • Capacity expanded in Pediatrics, Physical
    Therapy, and Dermatology clinics

During the Transition Period
  • Aggressively working sharing opportunities with
    Langley and VA hospital
  • Continued support from Post throughout the
    transition period
  • We will continue to focus on maximizing all
    opportunities for ambulatory surgery
