THE COURSE

• The course provides students with a working
  knowledge of the biological, social and
  psychological aspects of human sexuality and
  reproductive health.
• It explores recent developments in Health and
  Family Life Education in the Caribbean with
  regard to approach, life-skills and methods.
• Legal and ethical issues, key debates and some
  approaches commonly used for counselling in
  reproductive health are considered.

• Module 1 Biological and Behavioural Aspects of
  Reproductive Health
• Module 2 Legal and Ethical Issues in the
  Delivery of Reproductive Health and Family Life
  Education
• Module 3 Approaches to Reproductive Health and
  Family Life Education
• Module 4 Counselling and Referral for
  Reproductive Health
• Module 5 Key Debates in the Field of
  Reproductive Health

Method of Assessment

• This course will be assessed by means of
  coursework and a final examination. The
  coursework contributes 40 to the grade while the
  final examination contributes 60.

• Wednesdays 10am 12md
• Fridays 12 md 1 pm or 1 pm 2 pm
• A visit to an agency related to reproductive
  health and/or health and family life education
  will be scheduled
• First class September 6, 2006
