Scope of the workshop
  • utilising ICT for innovative ways of exchanging
    ideas, forging alliances and engaging in
    collaborative action
  • Web 2.0 as a new culture of e-collaboration
    rather than simply new technologies

Goals of the workshop
  • Getting some scientific background information
    about diaspora knowledge networks approach and
    good practice cases worldwide
  • getting an overview of status quo with regard to
    networking of scientific diaspora from SEE
    countries as well as regarding their use of ICTs
    for cooperation with their countries of origin
  • Facilitating mutual learning of programme
    owners/stakeholders in the SEE region (Would Web
    2.0 communities of practice make sense?)
  • Initiating (new) projects on national and
    regional (SEE) level
  • Raising awareness of stakeholders (RTD policy
    makers, development experts, ODA providers, IOs,
    ..) feeding into SEE regional RTD policy dialogue
    processes
  • Using Web 2.0 applications in RTD governance as a
    new way / new culture of participatory and
    interactive delivery of public services
    (contribution to Ljubljana process of governance
    of European Research Area)
