Group Sessions

• 2pm JCR in Grey college
• Be prepared to talk and listen!

Groups

• The first part of the session will have you split
  into groups based on your intended subject area.
• A current PhD student will give you a brief
  summary of their personal experience of doing a
  PhD and any answer questions you may have.

• There will be six groups
• A) Exoplanets, brown dwarfs, debris disks
• B) Star-formation, stellar astrophysics
• C) Pulsars, supernovae, gamma-ray bursts
• D) Galaxy evolution and AGN
• E) Cosmology
• F) Instrumentation

• After the first groups you will split into
  smaller groups based on various things.
• The aim is to make the personal connections
  between you that will make this course more
  enjoyable and also give you a network of friends
  around the country that you can call on for help
  and support for years to come..
