ocean. - It is called as the pearl of the Indian Ocean.
- Colombo is the largest city and the commercial
capital of Sri Lanka. - The population of Sri Lanka is about 19.25
million. Majority of population is Sinhalese. - The total area is 65,610 sq km (25,332 sq mi).
- The average temperature in the low lands ranges
from 26o to 31o c year round. Temperature in the
hill country range from 13 o to 20 o c.
