  Queen of Spain Ferdinand and Isabella.
• After 4 voyages Columbus was still convinced he
  had reached Asia.
• Later, another Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci
  follows Columbus route and reveals his new
  discovery.

  where thousands died, with an eventual fate of a
  life of slavery and misery in the Americas or
  Europe.
