• This PowerPoint presentation will explain step by
  step how to create your own PowerPoint for a
  Social Studies project about Native Americans

Step One - Tribe

• Choose or be assigned by the teacher a specific
  Native American tribe.

Step Two - Research

• Research your tribe.
• Read your social studies textbook for information
  on your tribe.
• Look up your tribe in an encyclopedia in the
  library.
• Surf the Internet.
• Log onto the Internet
• Type your tribes name in search box
• Print out or take notes of interesting facts

Step Three Organize Information

• Organize information your have collected into
  separate categories.
• LOCATION
• CULTURE
• HOUSING
• FOOD
• RELIGION

Step Four Create PowerPoint

• Log onto computer
• Click on Microsoft PowerPoint Icon
• Click in dot beside Design Template
• Click OKAY
• Choose background for presentation
• Click OKAY
• Choose 1st layout given for Title
• The layout has 2 gray lines in the middle
• Click - OKAY

Step Five Create Slide 1

• Slide 1 will be your title slide
• Click in the top box
• Type
• NATIVE AMERICANS
• Click in the lower box
• Type
• By Your name
• and the names of your
• group members

Step Six Create Slide 2

• Slide 2 will show the name of your specific
  tribe
• Click Insert
• (Located at the top of the tool bar)
• Click New Slide
• Choose layout for Slide 2
• (This layout has a gray line at the top with 3
  dots below)
• Click - OKAY

• Click in top box
• Type
• NAME OF YOUR TRIBE
• Click in lower box
• Type a short introduction about your tribe

• Find a map to show what part of the United States
  your tribe was located.

• Type a brief summary of your tribes culture.

Slide 5 HOUSING slide

• Describe the type of shelter used by your tribe.

• Type a brief description of the types of foods
  eaten by your tribe.
