- Information Dissemination To provide awareness
and knowledge of the nature and extent of
alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, abuse and
addiction and their effects on individuals,
families and communities. To provide knowledge
and awareness of available prevention programs
and services. - Establishment and use of a clearinghouse and
resource information resource center - Publication of resource directories and brochures
- Use of media campaigns including radio/TV public
service announcements - Speaking engagements, health fairs and promotions
and information lines.

- Education To plan educational activities to
assist and enhance the efficiency of governmental
and non-government agencies and organizations
engaged in alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse
programs including classroom and/or small group
sessions, parenting and family management
classes, peer leader and helper programs,
education programs for youth groups and programs
for children of substance abusers.

- Alternatives To sponsor and participate in
activities that allow for the participation of
target strategies that exclude alcohol, tobacco
and other drug use, including drug-free dances
and parties, community drop-in centers, youth and
adult leadership activities and community service
activities.

attitudes regarding alcohol, tobacco and drugs
including promoting the establishment and review
of alcohol, tobacco and drug use policies in
schools, technical assistance to communities to
maximize local enforcement procedures governing
the availability and distribution of alcohol,
tobacco and other drugs, modifying alcohol and
tobacco advertising practices and product pricing
strategies.
