and Southeast Asia Virtual Asian Studies
Programme 15 ECTS Implemented through separate
project funding from the Ministry of Education.
Courses are availabe to all polytechnics through
the e-production environment of the Virtual
Polytechnic - Orientation to East and
Southeast Asia , 5 ECTS credits - Health
Care and Social Services in China, Japan
and Thailand, 5 ECTS credits - Asian
Tourism and Service Culture, 5 ECTS credits

- Started in 2001 in Beijing, Shanghai and
Guangzhou - Background Organisation and Principles
- Invitations from individual polytechnics (10
15 annually) - Same exams for participating polytechnics
- Exams designed in co-operation with
participating polytechnics - Registration for the exams through British
Council - Venues and Identity Checks by British Council
- Representatives of the Asia Network assist in
invigilation and - organise group discussions
- Order of priority decided by the applicant if
he/she has received - more than one invitation
