Course Information
  • This course teaches the fundamentals of
    supervision, including the primary
    responsibilities of the supervisor. It
    introduces factors relating to the work of the
    supervisor and subordinates. It covers aspects
    of leadership, job management, work improvement,
    training and orientation, performance
    evaluations, and effective employee/supervisor
    relationships.

Leadership in Organizations
  • Students in each of the Leadership in
    Organizations courses (BUS 111, 117, and 201)
    will participate in Leadership Online Blackboard
    activities. These activities are designed to
    promote communication and collaboration among
    students enrolled in any of the three courses,
    and to yield a greater awareness of effective
    leadership. Activities will include case
    studies, discussion forums, and mini-readings
    designed to facilitate a deeper learning of
    leadership.

    Web at least twice weekly during the course.
    Access to MS Office is recommended.

  • Requires keyboarding, computer experience,
    installing software and communicating via e-mail,
    including attachments Owning your own computer
    is recommended.

Getting Started with Assignments
  • After August 19, you will have access to the
    Business Leadership Blackboard classroom.
  • Print the syllabus, visit all areas of
    Blackboard, and follow directions under
    Announcements.
  • Be sure to complete the first activity within
    three days of the beginning of the semester.

  • You will have access to the Business Leadership
    Blackboard for the semester.
  • You will participate in case studies with
    students in other leadership courses (BUS 111,
    117, and 201) for a rich learning experience in
    leadership.
