• Regional ICC
• To review an monitor EPI and poliomyelitis
  eradication activities in the Region, with
  respect to the Regional Plans of Action.
• To identify resource requirements and ensure that
  necessary support to implement the Regional Plan
  of Action is available.
• To ensure coordination of international efforts
  and support for EPI and poliomyelitis
  eradication.

• to ensure coordination of international
  organizations and agencies involved in supporting
  the Ministry of Public Health to implement the
  Expanded Programme on Immunization and specific
  disease control initiatives such as poliomyelitis
  eradication

• Advise VB in the following areas
• Global mission and objectives for vaccines and
  immunization
• WHO organisational capacity, responsibilities and
  roles in vaccines and immunization
• WHO/HTP cluster targets for vaccines and
  immunizations
• Initiatives across clusters in WHO such as CDS,
  Joint UNAIDS/WHO HIV vaccine initiative.
• VB strategic plan focusing on mission,
  objectives and targets
• WHO's commitments and contributions to the Global
  Coalition for Vaccines and Immunizations (GCI)
• Cross - departmental activities within HTP
  related to vaccines and immunization related
  technologies and strategies
• VB workplans and progress towards the main
  objectives
• Report to the HTP Meeting of Interested Parties
  on progress and constraints

• Monitor the situation of EPI and polio
  eradication in the Western Pacific Region,
  formulation and implementation of Regional and
  national plans of action
• Evaluate strategies and practices and recommend
  suitable strategies for acceleration of the EPI
  and poliomyelitis eradication initiative
• Promote understanding and support for the
  programme goals among technical institutions, and
  bilateral, multilateral and private agencies, as
  well as political leaders and
• Advise the WHO Regional Director for the Western
  Pacific Region on the above points.
