eCall Domains

Vehicle
  • Automatic triggering
  • Preventing falls calls by associating the
triggering with a reliable control unit, which is
fully tested and will not be triggered without an
    accident having happened
  • At least two sensors should be triggered before
    the eCall is activated
  • Manual triggering
  • A strategy for the manual triggering should be
developed so that eCall will not be triggered
accidentally e.g. holding the eCall bottom down
for three seconds or push it twice within 5
    seconds

6
In-Vehicle System
  • Location accuracy (m)
  • 50 meters (in 50 of all cases)
  • 100 meters (in 95 of all cases)
  • MSD bundling
  • Needs to be done according to the MSD
    standardisation
  • HMI
  • The IVS should inform the user via the HMI, if
the eCall system on board is not functioning
    currect
  • Timing
  • A maximum of 10 Sec. from the accident has
happened to eCall has been initiated

7
IVS 2 MNO 2 PSAP
  • Same as for 112 and E112
  • The emergency call should be given the highest
    priority through the mobile network
  • Transmission time for voice and data should be
no more then 4 Sec. (UK requirement for 112)
  • Transmit voice and data to the nearest PSAP
  • Reliability (tbd)
  • Roaming (tbd)

8
PSAP
