Challenged and Banned Books

• Books usually are challenged with the best
  intentionsto protect others, frequently
  children, from difficult ideas and information.
• The top three reasons, in order, for
  challenging material are the material is
  considered to be sexually explicit contain
  offensive language, and be unsuited to age
  group.
• Parents challenge materials more often than any
  other group.

The Circulation Desk

• Pick up material on reserve from teachers,
  including text books, and other homework helpers,
  such as dictionaries, markers, and colored
  pencils.
• Computer printouts are found here (at no charge).
• The photocopier is to the right of the desk (5
  cents per copy).

• If visiting without a class, you MUST show a pass
  from your teacher and your ID to the librarian.
• Computers are available for research, class work,
  projects, and homework assignments. Return screen
  to desktop when you are finished.
