- Apply basic project management best practices to
all Center projects - Develop Project Management Guide and Center
instruction requiring its use - Guide will apply to all projects big and small
(Tier I, Tier II) - Designated projects will follow more detailed
requirements that will help move them toward
compliance with CMMI Level 3 - Individual Departments will specify which
projects are designated to adhere to the CMMI
Level 3 requirements - Focus will be on applying the best practices
described in the PMBOK and CMMI and not doing
CMMI or SPI - Develop and implement a standard Proposal Process
to accompany the PM Guide - Develop PM training to support the PM Guide and
Proposal Process - Work with the Project Management Council to get
input and gain approval of project management
standards and processes - Use SPI Agents formal training follow-up
process to ensure student accountability
