Steps of the Calvin Cycle
  • 1) CO2 will combine with a RuBP (5C molecule) to
    create a 6C molecule
  • RuBP Ribulose Biphosphate
  • 2) 6C molecule quickly breaks down PGAL (two 3C
    sugar)
  • PGAL Phosphoglyeraldehyde
  • ATP and H provide the energy
  • 3)Once PGAL (3C sugar) is created
  • Some PGAL will bond to create glucose
  • Some PGAL will create RuBP to start the cycle over
