Key Findings From December 2007 PSEO Survey
  • The overall satisfaction rate for PSEO is at an
all-time high (97). In addition, 99 of the
respondents would participate in the program
again and 99 would recommend it to others.
  • 8 of respondents earned a degree while enrolled
in PSEO. Nearly all of the graduates surveyed
currently or plan to attend a college or
    university.
  • The majority of students enrolled as seniors and,
thus, did not earn a degree while attending PSEO.
PSEO students typically earn between 1 and 2
semesters worth of college credit. 40 earned
12 or fewer and 28 over 25 credits.
  • There were some large drops in usage rates of
LCCC services and facilities, with Computer Labs
    (-14), Advising/Counseling (-10), and the
Library (-8) seeing the largest decreases.
  • Satisfaction rates for facilities continue to run
much higher than those for personal services
    provided.
  • A feeling of disconnect from their high schools
was seen as the most challenging aspect of being
a PSEO student - a consistent theme over the past
    few years.
  • 65 of the students first became aware of PSEO
from a high school source, either their counselor
    (45) or their high school information night
(20). Friends and classmates (22) are also a
    source.
  • 93 felt that they received enough information
about PSEO from these sources. Those who felt
the information was inadequate placed the onus of
providing PSEO information on their high school
    counselors (75).
  • Work habits and personal maturity/characteristics
are seen as essential to succeeding in the
    program.
