Test Bench in Geneva

• All hardware parts are ready
• From time to time there is a problem with one
  HOLA?Slink fiber connection
• All tests are included in software package
• Static tests (connection lines)
• Datapath tests on the board (internal)
• Datapath tests with injector and Slink (external)
• Interrupt tests (VME)
• Database interface ready

Production Status

• First 3 boards tested successfully
• Final PUs mounted
• All functional tests passed
• Another batch of 12 boards arrived
• Should have been 17 but there were problems
  detected during the JTAG/boundary scan
• All 12 boards equipped with cooling plates and
  protection foils
• Test results of 6 boards (6 were sent to LAPP)
• 1 board ok
• Various problems on the other 5 boards, mainly on
  data and communication lines
• Optical receivers are all ok
• Debugging ongoing

Cooling system

• Cooling system in USA15
• Mechanical work finished
• Electrical part will be done until May 15, as
  planned
• In the first period of installation it will work
  with a local steering system
• Cooling drawers
• Final mechanical design changes done (arrangement
  of pipes)
• Started to order the material
• Need to hurry a bit to set up the test crate at
  EMF

Installation and Commissioning

• First real crate test with 14 RODs foreseen for
  mid April
• Important to show that the full system works
• Started installation one final crate transported
  to EMF test area
• Installation of crate next week water cooling
  system needs to be modified again
• Installation in USA15 starts when crates are
  delivered
• Hopefully in May Contract date 8 weeks time
  for load-tests
• Infrastructure will be supplied by CERN
• Rack rails, power cables in rack, side panels
• Lifting device for crates
• All crates power supplies will be installed at
  once
• Electronic equipment will be received, registered
  and tested at EMF before installation in USA15
• Target date 4 crates fully functional by August

Summary

• Need to identify problems with pre-series ROD
  boards and repair the boards
• A 16 yield is not acceptable find ways to
  improve production
• Crate delivery date in May, as foreseen at the
  beginning
• Cooling station is advancing
• Cooling drawers need to be built now
