What are estuaries?

• Estuaries are partly enclosed bodies of water
  where rivers, streams, and run offs meet sea
  water.
• They are affected by the tide, but are protected
  from the full force of the wind and the waves,
  unlike rivers.

• Every estuary is different, from the way its
  shaped. It could be enclosed by a barrier island,
  coast line, or reef.
