and in providing a level of specialist dental
care which is accessible to rural patients.
  • Successful candidates are offered a position as a
salaried practitioner with one of the rural
    Health Boards.
  • There is an attractive package of financial
support in travel and subsistence funding for
successful candidates, University fees and part
of the salary are also paid by NES.

student rate, but are expected to contribute to
the extent of the overseas training rate.
  • Full registration with the GDC is required and
overseas applicants should have completed ORE and
have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
  • Fellows attend one of the Scottish Dental Schools
on a part-time basis (either one week per month
or two days per fortnight) to complete a formal
teaching programme and clinical research project.

and shared space facilities. Fellows also attend

Travel to work in the Rural Areas
Opportunities for post-graduate training in
Dentistry have previously been limited to living
and working in a city with close links to a
Dental School. The Scottish Postgraduate Rural
Training Fellowship provides the chance to live
and work in the rural areas of Scotland, with the
quality of life and the access to leisure
pursuits which the areas offers and have access
to the type of post-graduate training you have
always wanted.
