6What is C-BAR?Chapter Benchmarking Reporting
- Replaces Voluntary Passport Program
- C-BAR has two Sections
- Section 1 Minimum Standards Mandatory Chapter
submission to Region by July 31 of each year - Section 2 Voluntary C-BAR submission also due
to Region by July 31 - Much less writing than Passport
- Excel workbook provided
7Implementation
- Section 1 Minimum Standards must be submitted
starting this year - Section 2 may be submitted this year in place of
Passport submission - This is the last year for Passport submission
- Region encourages Section 2 this year
- Less work! Documentation should fit in ½ binder
or can be electronic - Start the learning curve now!
- Make suggestions for improvement

10What Happens if the Minimum Standards Are Not Met?
- Chapter falls into revitalization status.
Action plans required - Requests for variances, if used, must be reviewed
annually - RVP may approved disbandment of Chapter if
standards not met by year 3 - References

11Global View of not Meeting the Minimum Standards
in 2006
- Seven (four) months notice of a major
restructuring of Association goals for Chapters - Some non-compliance is normal and expected
- It takes time to shift resources to the
accomplishment of newly established goals - Dont get mad or feel bad. It is what it is.
- Take a positive view
- Sharing Region resources minimizes individual

- Improved Version available by March 13th
- Assign a BOD member to the task
- Complete the Minimum Standards Section

13Region 7 Commitment
- To set goals for 100 Chapter compliance in all
13 areas and 100 Chapter submittal on time (July
31) - To provide liaison assistance to Chapters to
achieve maximum compliance - To cumulate your suggestions for improvement and
communicate up the chain - To communicate issues, resolutions, and answers
to questions

- There are some things you are not doing but are
able to do them with little effort. We want to
capture those before June 30 - The good news is that all exist within the region
and can be shared. All can comply with a little
effort. This is the Low Hanging Fruit
