Mark 1618 Gospel
Resurrection
2
  • 161 Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended,
Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and
Salome went out and purchased burial spices so
they could anoint Jesus body. 2 Very early on
Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the
tomb. 3 On the way they were asking each other,
Who will roll away the stone for us from the
    entrance to the tomb?

3
  • 4 But as they arrived, they looked up and saw
that the stone, which was very large, had already
been rolled aside. 5 When they entered the tomb,
they saw a young man clothed in a white robe
sitting on the right side. The women were
shocked, 6 but the angel said, Dont be alarmed.
You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was
    crucified. He isnt here!

4
  • He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where
they laid his body. 7 Now go and tell his
disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going
ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there,
just as he told you before he died. 8 The women
fled, trembling and bewildered, saying nothing to
anyone because they were too afraid.

the resurrection proof that the cross was
sufficient The scribes and Pharisees came to
Jesus and said, Teacher, we want you to show us
a miraculous sign to prove your authority. Jesus
replied, the only sign I will give is the sign
of the prophet Jonah. Just as Jonah was in the
belly of the great fish for three days and
nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of
the earth for three days and nights.

God raised Christ up again, putting an end to
the agony of death, since it was impossible for
him to be held in its power. Ac 224 You put
to death the Prince of life, whom God raised from
the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.

Why are we in danger every hour? If from human
motives I fought wild beasts in Ephesus, what
does it profit me? If the dead are not raised,
let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
