Specialized Programs

• Edmark
• DISTAR
• Both programs have an extensive research base.
  Both use direct instruction. The tasks are
  tightly sequenced in small steps. Edmark uses a
  whole word approach. The student learns words by
  visual discrimination. Associations are made
  between pictures and words.
