• 3. responding to immediate health or psychiatric
  crisis

• 1. Explain to client why the referral is
• taking place
• 2. Describe new services or new agency
• to the client
• 3. Communicate directly with agency or
• worker
• 4. Forward appropriate information to
• new agency or service

Evaluating the Referral

• 1. Did client keep the appointment?
• 2. Was agency/worker appropriate to client's
  needs?
• WHY EVALUATE?
• a. good feedback for worker
• b. increase client's faith in the system
