• Traditional parameters in HEP, e.g.

• Are these parameters orthogonal?

• More efficient use of CPUs.
• No (long) wait for resources.
• Less efficient use of other resources.
• Pre-allocated but not in use.
• Potential dead lock.
• Which is the most expensive resource?

Turn Around Guarantees

• HEP traditionally more democratic/chaotic.
• Start with first-come first-served.
• Modify with (mild) prioritization.
• Anti-flooding algorithm.
• Physicists very inventive in gaming system!
• Differently in other fields?
• Weather forecast before the weather.
