and Dan Jones The Machine that Changed the
World - It has evolved from the Toyota Production System
which changed Toyota from a small domestic
producer to one of the worlds most efficient
producers in only 20 years - Lean focuses on maximising consumer value while
eliminating waste - Key component of Lean thinking is lead-time
reduction - Lean operates both at a shop floor and
strategic level developed as a set of overall
guiding principles for business and supply chain
