2REASONS for OMEPEI YOUTH
- The growing number of young people of immigrant
origin in our region, a steady increase that
DEMANDS SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS. - The need to develop tools and work methods to
promote interaction between native and immigrant
societies. - The profound lack of knowledge on both sides of
the Straits about young peoples real lives.
3WHAT ARE OUR AIMS?
- To serve as a meeting point for experience
exchange between the participating entities. - To create a space for interculturality education
and self-teaching for youngsters. - To stimulate analysis and debate about the
reality of the migration phenomenon in Andalusia
and on the southern shores of the Straits. - To promote and enhance a forum in which to plan
and create expertise and which can feed from the
experiences and reflections voiced at the
different meetings organised.
4WHAT DIRECTION DOES OUR PROPOSAL TAKE?
- Starting from existing experience in Andalusia...
- To compile collectively teaching material that
builds on knowledge acquired through the
exchange process. - To seek consensus in the proposed methodology.
- To form a NETWORK of leisure and socio-cultural
leaders, intercultural mediators and youth
leaders. - To identify and systematize the experiences of
different collective groups and organizations. - To exchange knowledge and experiences of young
people in organizations in Cadiz, Malaga and
Northern Morocco. - To develop a self-teaching process on
Intercultural Education and Immigration through
non-formal gatherings of participants.
5WHAT IS OUR WORK METHOD?
- SEMIPRESENTIAL work
- Presential educational gatherings, to exchange,
learn and share ideas. - Autonomous group work.
- Co-ordination and monitoring by the Andalusian
Youth Institute. - Based on certain PRINCIPLES
- Adaption of the process according to each groups
knowledge and interest. - Use of participative and constructivist methods.

field of formal and non-formal education. - WHY
- To understand and respect different ways of
living and interpreting reality. - To share and promote values and initiatives which
encourage intercultural cohabitation. - To learn about and use tools to work with young
people in the area of socio-cultural activities
(youth work).

- Reflection analysis of context and realities
- Methodology tools and techniques to work on the
themes of the various action plans. - Existing educational experience of intercultural
work with young people on each theme. - THEMES

- Human relations.
- Religious practice.
- Work.
- Artistic expression.
8GENERAL EVALUATION OF THE PROCESS achievements
1. The exchange of knowledge and experience with
young people, between organizations in Cadiz,
Malaga and North Marocco.
2. The development of a process of education and
self-education of the entities involved. 3. The
elaboration of a proposal of material on
Intercultural Education and Immigration for young
people in a non-formal environment.
4. The creation of a NETWORK of free-time
monitors, youth workers, and intercultural and
technical youth mediators, in the area of
Leisure, Interculturality and Immigration.
5. The identification and systematization of
experiences.
