  • Adolescents have little access to correct
    information about Reproductive Health.
  • High unmet need for family planning among married
    adolescents (35)
  • Need for adolescent friendly services at the
    health institutions
  • Adolescents are at increased risk for STI
    including HIV/AIDS and substance abuse.

  • Adolescents need to be empowered with correct,
    age appropriate and current information and
    skills to develop and practice responsible
    behaviors to protect themselves.
  • Need to sensitize parents, teachers and social
    leaders on needs and issues related to
    adolescents health and development.

    community activities and decision-making process
    can encourage participation and responsibility

Strategic objectives for ARH
  • To create a suitable environment that will enable
    HWs and FCHVs to deliver quality ARH services.
  • To increase the priority for ARH issues by
    increasing resources and funding levels for these
    programs.
  • To develop policies and procedures that encourage
    and support the provision of adolescent-friendly
    RH services.
  • To increase their funding of ARH-related
    activities..
  • To mobilize Women's groups, NGOs, local
    organizations and communities to support and
    conduct program activities that improve ARH in
    all communities

Strategic Objective of ARH
  • To have comprehensive and functional knowledge
    about FP among men and women of Reproductive age.
  • To increase communication about FP and other
    health issues among adolescent.
  • To utilize available health services as needed.
  • To have increased practice of desired FP MCH
    behaviors by adolescent.
  • HWs will demonstrate acceptable quality skills
    (inter-personal communication skills and caste
    and gender sensitization) in FP communication and
    counseling.

    sexual-reproductive health issues.

    favorable view of dealing openly with issues
    related to ARH.
