- Tariff Points have now been agreed for the
separately accredited components of the Advanced
Diploma including

- (Principal and Generic Learning) maximum 300
points - Additional and Specialist Learning maximum 120
points - Advanced Diploma Progression Diploma plus
Additional Specialist Learning (ASL). - Total maximum 420 points
- For Tariff score for ASL see the appropriate
qualification. ASL has a maximum Tariff score of
120.
- Progression Diploma
- (Principal and Generic Learning) maximum 300
points - Additional and Specialist Learning maximum 140
points - Advanced Diploma Progression Diploma plus

- Offered from 2008
- Equivalent to an AS in size but A2 in standard
- Available as an optional free standing
qualification or as a compulsory part of the
diploma - Graded from A to E

- You will be defined as a mature student if you
are aged 21 or over at the start of your course
(20 or over in Scotland). - At most universities and colleges, mature
students form the vast majority of part-time
students and a large proportion of the full-time
student population.

- After peaking in 2010-11, the number within the
18-20 age group declines significantly for the
following decade by more than 12 per cent
between 2010-11 and 2020-21 - During the four years beyond 2020-21 the 18-20
population will increase by 6.7 per cent, and
then from 2024-25 will flatten out, well below
the 2010-11 peak. - The number of school leavers is expected to
plummet over the next 10 years, leaving 70,000
university places unfilled - the equivalent of
