Three Programme Options Winmarleigh Hall can
offer itineraries which either mix activity with
education (5050 or 6535) or focus purely on
activity (1000)
National Curriculum and Scottish 5-14
Curriculum Winmarleigh Halls activities satisfy
the requirements of the National Curriculum and
Scottish 5-14 Curriculum for physical education,
outdoor and adventurous activities at Key Stages
2 and 3. Education modules also complement
curriculum content.
Group Co-ordinators A group leader works closely
with every group for the duration of their stay
Maximum Participation Winmarleigh Hall has
invested heavily in both the quality and quantity
of its equipment. This ensures less time is
spent waiting and more time is spent
participating.

Challenge by Choice Challenge by Choice allows
individuals to set their own level of challenge
on each activity. This ensures that they
maximise personal achievement, development and
enjoyment. Instructors are fully trained in
the delivery of safe and educational activities,
providing participants with complete confidence
throughout their stay.

Bouldering Games Attempt challenges on our low
level climbing traverse wall whilst developing
key skills and techniques
Abseiling Abseil from our zip-wire platform, the
top of our climbing wall or new multi activity
tower - an outdoor adventure favourite
Archery Learn how to shoot arrows whilst
improving aim, skill and understanding of this
noble sport
Capture the Flag Use a mix of initiative and
teamwork in order to win the challenge and be the
first team to capture the flag.
Canoeing Explore the challenging sport of
canoeing in a safe and supervised environment -
ideal for beginners
Fencing Learn the art of fencing footwork and
basic foil handling skills in a fully supervised,
safe environment
Outdoor Games Partake in football, volleyball and
rounders events a chance for sporting stars to
make their mark
Climbing Develop teamwork, communication skills
and trust on our purpose-built climbing wall or
multi activity tower

High and Low Ropes Get involved in team and
personal challenges on a superb range of rope
courses in a safe, controlled environment
Initiative Exercises Undertake problem solving
challenges in their most enjoyable form.

Orienteering Experience map making, route
finding and develop navigation skills all within
the halls grounds
Quad Bikes Get to grips with controlling a bike
through twists and turns and experience the
techniques used in vehicle control
Survival Skills Learn and explore basic survival
skills in the safe and secure environment of
Winmarleigh Halls grounds
Zip Wire Take a thrilling ride across the
Winmarleigh Hall estate on this 200m long zipwire
Team Challenge Explore team work, problem solving
and communication skills in this challenging team
session
UHF Radio Roundup Develop remote communciation
skills, leadership and problem solving in this
session

Art and Animation Create an animated movie using
a digital camera, animation, adding sound effects
and voice-overs
At the Movies Create a digital video of a news or
weather report or create an animated superhero
movie using digital video editing
Habits and Habitats Look at habitats on site and
learn about at healthy eating, then record
experiences on a webpage
Hands On Use devices which are linked to
computers, including sensors, microscopes, radio
facilities and midi keyboards
Out of Control Explore how to use computers to
control real and virtual devices such as robotic
animals and machinery
W-Files Embark on a physical, mental and
practical problem solving hunt in this search for
an alien control centre
WMTV Create a digital music video and make a TV
programme collating all the music videos for the
class
Reliving History Discover how to make a hot air
balloon, record results, and produce a final film
using text, images and sounds
