Group Life Medical Insurance Seamless Benefit
Group Life is one of core product in employee
benefit. However, this product does not cover
hospitalization and surgical operation caused by
disease and accident. So we strongly recommend a
combined insurance product with Group Life and
Medical Insurance which enable your company
employee benefit to be seamless benefit, which
could appeal your employee more than a single
Group Life product. Now XYZ Japan has a coverage
for death and hospitalization only caused by
accident.
What if I am hospitalized by disease?
Only accidental death coverage is not enough.
Combined insurance is SECURE!

Medical Insurance BackgroundWe do have National
Health Program, butNow, in Japan, everyone is
covered by National Health Insurance as part of
Social Security. However, it covers only minimum
or basic floor of protection.
Out of pocket money
If you are hospitalized, you should pay the
following by yourself. Total of these
expenditures will be 20,100JPY per day of
hospitalization. (See Chart 2 in next
page) Therefore the supplement provided by the
private insurance is quite important.
7
Medical Insurance Background
Average out-of-pocket expense in hospitalization
per day is 20,100 JPY. Includes meal and
pay-beds expense. Excludes refund by benefit for
high-cost medical care. (Source Survey on life
security by Japan Institute of Life Insurance in

  • Enhancement of medical/health program can be
WIN-WIN solution for both the employer and the
    employees.

Cost for Employee Benefit
Legal welfare expense
Welfare expense
In welfare expense, the cost for medical and
health is increasing by more than 30 while the
expense for education (language learning etc.) is
decreasing. A supplemental company sponsoring
medical health maintenance program is in a
strong demand for the employees.

Medical Insurance Effects
As will be appreciated from the foregoing, there
is a need for reinforcement of employees benefit
program to further their commitment and support
their strong efforts such as overtime
work. Besides, the introduction of benefit
program on healthcare is a very effective way to
motivate talented employees and have them build
loyalty to their company. Furthermore,
instituting a differential benefit program from
other company would be a quite significant way to
attract superior human resources in recruiting.
