CTB DESIGN PROJECT

The objective of this project was to overcome
several drawbacks of current truck boxes. The
Collapsible Truck Box (CTB) offers ample storage
space but is able to fold into a shape that
doesnt take up valuable bed space. The truck
box will be easy to expand and collapse, and it
is completely removable from the bed of the
truck. This design is user friendly, has a
larger capacity, stores easily, and is less
expensive than existing models.
Figures 1-3 demonstrate the collapsibility of the

This project was done for ME 4182 Capstone
Design. The objective of the class was for
students to apply knowledge and skills to a
realistic design project. The entire design
process was completed during the one semester
course from project bid/selection to design and
