time-saving and practice enhancing features of
the MNT Assistant. - Use these navigation buttons on the left and
at the bottom to move around the slideshow.

3Start-up
The MNT Assistant is installed from a CD. The
installation puts a convenient start-up icon on
your desktop. Just click on it and the control
panel will appear. Opening the MNT Assistant
can be made more secure by adding a password or
assigning user access (single or multi-user
systems are available).

The control panel is your gateway to MNT outcomes
data management, tailored education, nutrition
assessment and convenient patient charting.

The buttons in the left column allow you to edit
and view MNT patient information.

Buttons in the right column allow you to access
administrative data for managing behavioral
objectives, physician, therapist and insurance
company information.

The Intervention Management button allows you to
view, edit or add intervention strategies,
categories and objectives. You can also create
your own charting templates for each
intervention.

summary and detail reports.

By clicking on the Patient Profiles button, you
may add or edit patient information.

Here you enter your patients healthcare
provider, payer and personal contact information.

This drop down field lists, in alphabetical
order, the physicians in your database.

Click the red ? button to add or view details

The information on this tab helps to track
reimbursement sources so you can easily complete

or edited anytime.
Click on either of these red ? buttons to add
or view details about the payer you selected from
the drop-down list.

When you are all done entering the MNT Intake
form, you can print this information for your
patients chart.
Just click on the report button to preview the
basic patient profile information.

When you are ready to enter information about
this persons MNT session, click on this button
to record your data and session notes.

Click here to enter the responses from the MNT
Profile questionnaires, including personal and
family health history, lifestyle habits and
functional assessment results.

during or for this session may be recorded in the

The MNT Assistant provides a convenient nutrition
analysis strategy. You may uses a 24 hour recall,
diet record or food frequency. Just click on the
Dietary Analysis Results button here.

analysis. You may also, record food groups eaten
and supplements reported.

You can easily estimate caloric requirements by
using this convenient Resting Metabolic Rate
(RMR) calculator. Just click the button on the
tool bar and this pop-up calculator appears.

After you enter the recommended caloric intake,
certain calculations are automatic. If you enter
the fat grams then fat is calculated and visa
versa. Recommended protein and carbohydrate
values are also automated.

To enter the remaining nutrients simply choose
the age and gender categories you want and then
click the Paste DRIs button. DRI
recommendations will automatically be entered for

to make adjustments.
You can preview and print a report listing the
objectives for this intervention by clicking this
report button.
50The Control Panel
When you are ready to close the MNT Assistant
just click the Close / Exit button. It will
return you to your desktop.
