Start-up
The MNT Assistant is installed from a CD. The
installation puts a convenient start-up icon on
your desktop. Just click on it and the control
panel will appear. Now drive the Nutrition
Care Process with electronic charting, billing
assistance, nutrition assessment tools,
evidenced-based interventions, outcome
evaluations and tailored education.

The control panel is your gateway to the MNT
Assistants services.

The buttons in the left column allow you to edit
and view MNT patient information.

Buttons in the right column allow you to access
administrative data for managing behavioral
objectives, physician, therapist, insurance
company information, CPT codes, and your
customary charges.

The Patient Profile
By clicking on the Patient Profiles button, you
may add or edit patient information.

Here you enter your patients healthcare
provider, payer and personal contact information.

order, the physicians in your database.

Click on the Insurance tab to view or edit
payer information.
The information on this tab helps to track
reimbursement sources so you can automatically
complete claim forms use the CMS 1500 form
template.

or edited anytime.
Click on either of these red ? buttons to add
or view details about the payer you selected from
the drop-down list.

When you are all done entering the MNT Intake
form, you can print this information for your
patients chart.
Click on the envelope to begin writing a letter
to this client. Use Office Link or copy the
letter to your word processor.

items invoiced on their Super Bills.

Put in your start and stop times and the program
calculates total time and units.

referral information and insurance data. This
make it easier for the MNT client to seek their
own reimbursement from third party payers.

Click the CMS 1500 form button to pull up the CMS
1500 form as a word document.

A place has been provided for the NPI number in
both the RD and Physicians profile windows.

Click here to enter the responses from the MNT

functional assessment results.

provides a few automated features.
After you enter the recommended caloric intake,
certain calculations are automatic. If you enter
the fat grams then fat is calculated and visa
versa. Recommended protein and carbohydrate
values are also automated.

the age and gender categories you want and then
click the Paste DRIs button. DRI
recommendations will automatically be entered for
