About The Book
The London Eye Mystery is about a brother and
sister whose cousin has come to visit them before
heading off to New York to live. When their
cousin and aunt comes, they decide to take them
to see the London Eye. But when a mysterious man
comes to give them a ticket, they decide that
Salim - their cousin - should go on. When Salim
waves goodbye, Kat and Ted watch their cousin go
up. but never come down. Where has Salim gone?
What goes up must come down. Mustnt it? In order
to find their cousin, Kat and Ted become
detectives and link together clues that they find
throughout their journey.

About The Author
4 February 1960-21 August 2007
Siobhan Dowd was an Irish author, who was born in
London. Her first novel was called A Swift
Pure Cry , which was published in March 2006.
This was then followed by The London Eye
Mystery . Unfortunately, before her third book
could be published, she died of breast cancer at
the age of 47. However, her third book, Bog
Child , is due for publication in February 2008.
Also, her fourth and final novel, Solace of the
Road , is scheduled to be published in January
2009.

CHARACTER PROFILES...

Ted...
Ted is twelve years old and he is not like a
normal twelve year old. This is because he has a
syndrome. He thinks differently and acts
differently to everyone else. He doesnt
understand practical phrases, but when it comes
to thinking and doing things, he is remarkably
amazing. So when it comes to finding Salim, Ted
is the man for the job. He may not be great at
lying, so when he has to lie to his mother to get
out of the house, he thinks he may not be able
to, but taking the advice that Kat gives him, he
manages to pull it off!!

Kat...
Kat is a bossy teenager, who is addicted to
fashion. She doesnt get on with Ted, and finds
him annoying. That is until they need to work
together to find their missing cousin. With Teds
Brains, and Kats Deceit, they make their journey
across London. Because she is an expert at lying
to her parents, she is able to get out of the
house without her mum noticing. Kat is the type
of girl who skips school to go into town, so
getting out of her own house should be easy.

Salim...
Salim is Ted and Kats cousin from Manchester. He
and his Mum have come to visit their family
before heading off to New York to live. Salim
seems to be happy about moving to New York, but
is he really? Moving to New York means that he
wont be able to see his dad, his friends and his
school mates. He is a quiet boy who tends to keep
himself to himself. He likes exploring and taking
pictures, because his dad gave him a digital
camera before leaving. This camera holds some
clues to Salims disappearance.
