A Season is.

• A season is one of four periods that occur during
  a year.
• Each season lasts about 3 months.
• Seasons cause a change in temperature, weather,
  and they length of daylight.

• There are four seasons in Michigan.
• Each season has different characteristics.
• The seasons are

• Summer
• Fall
• Winter
• Spring

Summer

• The warmest season of the year
• June, July, August
• Warm to hot weather
• Thunderstorms!
• 4th of July
• NO school

Fall

• Comes between summer and winter
• September, October, November
• Cool weather
• Falling leaves
• Birds migrate
• Halloween
• Thanksgiving

Winter

• The coldest season of the year
• December, January, February
• Snow storms
• Hats and mittens
• Christmas

• Comes between winter and summer
• March, April, May
• Snow melts
• Warming Temperatures
• Nature awakens
• Easter

Seasons and the Sun

• Our seasons change because of the sun. The closer
  our planet Earth is to the sun the warmer our
  temperature is.
• We are closest to the sun during summer
• We are furthest from the sun during winter
