Search 2 project original objectives
  • A. To draft a schedule of implementation for
    producing how to search guides for Search 2.0
    and sketch a training programme (cascading the
    training to a wider community in SHAs)
  • B. To agree a division of labour amongst the
    groups participants allocating responsibility
    for the implementation of the targets set by
    objective A.
  • C. Generate a community of practice that will
    support the participants during the project and
    disseminate good practice beyond its initial
    phase of implementation.
  • Issues to be discussed
  • a. What challenges did you face (as individuals
    and teams) during the implementation of these
    objectives?
  • b. How were these challenges addressed?
  • c. In particular was a CoP established?

    one negative feedback

  • CoP we are all in the same boat
  • these sessions are ways of us telling each
    other the answer rather than NLH giving any help
    at all

  • Yes benefited from shared comments and opinions
  • Helped me to tailor the training
  • Yes but more time needed to become familiar with
    Search 2.0
  • Not really - beta version wasnt working
    properly
  • Expected initial familiarity with Search 2.0

  • Deliver cascaded training as workshops/ in depth
    knowledge
  • Will help to share ideas with other librarians
    (SHA and beyond)
  • Modify searching guides to suit local needs
  • Develop suitable search examples
  • It will make me delay promoting Search 2.o until
    it is at a reasonable state of usefulness

  • Worthwhile session which showed how Search 2
    worked and areas which did not work. Feedback
    from colleagues was useful
  • If it works this could be really good
  • Not enough time to look at the guides to assess
    their usefulness to the users
  • More information should have been provided by
    NLH to help trainers deal with problems beyond
    their control/ NLH Development team not present
    during cascaded training
  • I am both a trainer and a user why is this
    dual role not recognised by this survey??
