• Help you with your college search and planning
• Process your application
• Write you a recommendation
• Encourage you and answer questions along the way
• Meet with parents and students as requested

Student Role

• Research colleges
• Decide on colleges for applications
• Know college application procedures and deadlines
• Adhere to all deadlines
• Report acceptances and other relevant information
  to the Counseling Office

The Parent Role

• Encourage and participate with you in college
  fairs and financial aid workshops
• Assist you to visit college campuses
• Help you create a timeline associated with the
  admissions process
• Offer support and assistance along the way
• Talk frankly with you about family values and
  resources
• Help you prepare for your transition

STANDARDIZED TEST SCORE REPORTING
Tolland High School does NOT include SAT or ACT
scores as part of our official transcript
package. Students must have their standardized
test scores sent directly from the testing agency
(College Board, ACT) to the colleges they are
applying to, as well as to other organizations as
needed (NCAA Clearinghouse, scholarships,
