Chondroblastoma

• Uncommon, benign, cartilaginous, intraosseous
  lesion
• Most commonly occur in the second and third
  decades of life
• Usually located in the epiphyses or apophyses of
  long bones
• Radiographically, lesions are lytic and centrally
  located within the epiphysis (arrows)
  occasionally with radiographic visualization of
  internal calcified matrix however, this is often
  better visualized with CT (see next slide)

Chondroblastoma

• Computed tomography (CT) can often better define
  the presence of an internally calcified matrix
  (arrow) in cases of chondroblastoma, confirming
  the diagnosis
• Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging can also be
  helpful in the workup of questionable lesions,
  demonstrating extensive surrounding reactive
  marrow edema
