Title: ATAC SIMMOD Activities

1
ATAC SIMMODActivities
  • European SIMMOD
  • Users Group
  • Rome, Italy
  • 7 - 8 October 2004

2
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Current version is 6.2.3
  • Ongoing work for next version of theNetwork
    Builder and Animator
  • Substantial under the hood changes
  • More detailed worldwide coastline
  • Updateable database of fixes, VORs, airports,
special use airspace in the US
  • Can been extended to include worldwide data

3
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine ground logic changes since last meeting
  • The runway crossing logic was fixed to eliminate
situations in departures would hold indefinitely
if a crossing was placed at an intersection of
    two runways.
  • Takeoff logic was fixed to properly apply
spool-up delay to aircraft that are delayed at a
procedure start node due to an occupied runway
    (SIMU26 code WR).

4
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine ground logic changes since last meeting
  • DSDPATH logic was enhanced with a new field to
allow the user to specify the maximum amount of
time that an aircraft is willing to wait to enter
a DSDPATH before it begins enforcing strict
    first-in-first-out queuing.
  • The input routines of the AFLINKBLOCKING data
have been enhanced to eliminate the temporary
usage of huge amounts of memory that may exhaust
the available memory of the computer.

5
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine ground logic changes since last meeting
  • A GATERWY logic flaw in which it functioned
correctly for only the first airport defined in
the AIRPORTS inputs has been eliminated.

6
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine airspace logic changes since last meeting
  • A flaw in which the airlink/departure blocking
logic would cause the engine to crash in models
    that contain no departure queues.
  • Indicated and true airspeeds input values between
0 and 10 knots are now permitted. The engine
previously assumed that the user erroneously
intended Mach number and would automatically
    recalculate the speed.

7
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine airspace logic changes since last meeting
  • The airlink/airlink blocking logic has been
enhanced to allow a blocking airlink to be
entered more than once in the LINKBLOCKING inputs.

8
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Engine input/output changes since last meeting
  • SIMU10 output has been corrected to include queue
delays in the departure delay totals.
  • SIMU04 now allows scenarios with names longer
    than 19 characters.
  • An erroneous message in SIMU04 stating in some
situations that the procedure blocking distance
exceeds the total length of the final arrival
    links has been eliminated.

9
Simmod PLUS! Activities
  • Ongoing work for next version of the engine
  • Departure queue enhancements
  • Inputs for the maximum number times or the
maximum total time that an aircraft can be passed
    in the queue.
  • Number of global data values changed to a value
    unique to each departure queue
  • Runway crossing enhancements
  • Allow greater amount of rechecking for situations
in which a crosser will not delay departures.
  • Extend a landing aircrafts ability to block
runway crossers by more than the final airlink.
