We become Born Again by the Holy Spirit

• John 36-8 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the
  Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be
  surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'
  8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear
  its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes
  from or where it is going. So it is with everyone
  born of the Spirit."

• He convicts/convinces of sin (Tugs on the Heart)
• John 168-10 When he (Holy Spirit) comes, he will
  convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and
  righteousness and judgment
• He produces Salvation through faith
• John 38b So it is with everyone born of the
  Spirit."

• He sets us free from sin
• Romans 82 because through Christ Jesus the law
  of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of
  sin and death.
• He baptizes us into the body of Christ
• 1 Corinthians 1213 For we were all baptized by
  one Spirit into one body

• He, God the Holy Spirit Indwells us
• 1 Corinthians 619-20 19 Do you not know that
  your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is
  in you, whom you have received from God?
• He secures us eternally
• John 1416 And I will ask the Father, and he will
  give you another Counselor (Holy Spirit) to be
  with you forever

• He teaches and guides into all truth
• John 1613 But when he, the Spirit of truth,
  comes, he will guide you into all truth.
• He brings glory to Christ, not Himself
• John 1614 He will bring glory to me

• He assures us of the reality of our salvation
• Romans 816 The Spirit himself testifies with our
  spirit that we are God's children.
• He adopts us into Gods family
• Romans 815 For you did not receive a spirit that
  makes you a slave again to fear, but you received
  the Spirit of sonship

• He helps us to pray when were weak
• Romans 826-27 26 In the same way, the Spirit
  helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we
  ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself
  intercedes for us
• He Imparts spiritual gifts
• 1 Corinthians 1211 All these are the work of one
  and the same Spirit, and he gives them (gifts) to
  each one, just as he determines.

• He produces spiritual fruit
• Galatians 522-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is
  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
  faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
• He seals us and guarantees our future
• 2 Corinthians 122 set his seal of ownership on
  us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a
  deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

• He empowers us to make an eternal difference
• Acts 18 But you will receive power when the Holy
  Spirit comes on you
• He warns of danger leads us
• Acts 2022 I only know that in every city the
  Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships
  are facing me.

• He restrains wickedness and evil
• 2 Thes 27b but the one who now holds it back
  will continue to do so till he (Holy
  Spirit/church raptured) is taken out of the way.
• He emboldens us to stand strong for God
• Acts 931 Then the church throughout Judea,
  Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It
  was strengthened and encouraged by the Holy
  Spirit,

• He graces us with skill, ability knowledge
• Exodus 313 and I have filled him with the Spirit
  of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all
  kinds of crafts
• He opens our access to the Father
• Ephesians 218 For through him we both have
  access to the Father by one Spirit.

BUT, He can be

• RESISTED
• Acts 751 "You stiff-necked people, with
  uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like
  your fathers You always resist the Holy Spirit!
• GRIEVED
• Ephesians 430 And do not grieve the Holy
  Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the
  day of redemption.
• QUENCHED
• 1 Thes 519 Do not put out the Spirit's fire

• 1 Corinthians 619-20 Do you not know that your
  body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in
  you, whom you have received from God? You are not
  your own 20 you were bought at a price.
  Therefore honor God with your body.

3. Be Filled with His Spirit

• Ephesians 515-18 Be very careful, then, how you
  live--not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the
  most of every opportunity, because the days are
  evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but
  understand what the Lord's will is. 18 Do not get
  drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.
  Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Make this Your Daily Prayer

• Ephesians 314-21 For this reason I kneel before
  the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in
  heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray
  that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen
  you with power through his Spirit in your inner
  being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts
  through faith.

• And I pray that you, being rooted and
  established in love, 18 may have power, together
  with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long
  and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and
  to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that
  you may be filled to the measure of all the
  fullness of God.

• 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more
  than all we ask or imagine, according to his
  power that is at work within us, 21 to him be
  glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
  throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
  Amen.
