Project Lead The Way

• National Program
• Partnerships between schools and institutions of
  higher education. (Funded in Riverside by
  Perkins).
• Increase quantity/quality of students graduating
  from engineering technology institutions.
• Train students in skills needed in todays
  manufacturing sectors.
• Four-year series of courses.
• Introduces students to the rigor and discipline
  of engineering technology prior to entering
  college.

• Students in Computer Integrated Manufacturing
  (CIM) use these machines to learn about
  manufacturing processes and develop their own
  products.

• Students in Principles of Engineering (POE) class
  learn about flowcharts and logical sequences of
  events used in factories and electronic products
  using a computer interface that is attached to
  the helicopter (which does not fly).
