Title: The Iraqi War
1The Iraqi War
An Update on how the war is goingand Seeing the
war through the lens of scripture
2The Many Questions
- Was the War Wrong?
- Were we misled by the Bush Administration?
- Was Iraq involved in the 9/11 attacks?
- Did the Terrorists and Al Qaeda have ties to
Iraq? - Did Saddam Hussein have weapons of mass
destruction?
For a thorough and balanced assessment of these
and other questions go to this Website
3Did President Bush lie?
- Over 3,000 American Soldiers have died since the
war began over five years ago are their deaths in
vain? - Is this war another Viet Nam?
- Is this war really about oil?
- Has our country become more or less safe?
- Are we winning in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Angered about it?
4- Who has the most to gain or lose depending upon
the wars outcome? - Are the media covering everything and letting us
decide or are they interpreting the news for us? - Are we being told only what others want us to
know? Is the war on Terrorism being defined
properly? - Will we be able to leave Iraq and not cause a
civil war or chaotic conflict that eventually
will lead to a stronger Terrorist organization?
winners losers
Unbiased?
5What about Iran?
- Not only is Iran heavily involved in undermining
Iraq so is Syria, what should be done to address
their rising threats to stability in the Middle
East and the world? - Iran has become more aggressive and is being
supported and supplied nuclear technology through
Russia, the prospects of Iran possessing and
using a nuclear weapon is drawing close.
Iran has already threatened to use it
6The Middle East is centered around Israel and the
Israeli-Arab conflict
- This is a battle that began with Abraham in the
birth of Ishmael and Isaac. The rivalry between
two half brothers and their descendants. - It is a conflict over two histories and two
different religions and two different promises
(Covenants) (Gal. 421-31.) - There is far more involved here than just feuding
peoples the conflict strikes at the very purpose
of life, the identity of God, and what is the
truth.
Which is the son of promise?
Isaac or Ishmael?
Is the Bible right or the Koran?
7The Bible gives us signs, warnings, and a
prophetic picture that is centered around Israel
(See End of Age Prophecies on this DVD).
Who is this small nation? What significance do
they represent? Why are the Arab (Islamic)
nations so threatened, so incensed, and so
determined to annihilate Israel?
8The Jews they are known almost everywhere upon
the face of the earthwhere they had been driven
by Gods judgment against them (for disobedience
rejection of His Covenant with them) yet God
promised to bring them back to their homeland in
the last daysThey began to return in mass in
1948 when Israel became a nation again for the
third time.
Ancient Prophecies fulfilled...
Jews returning from four corners of the earth!
9God's Chosen People?
- Why did/do so many want to destroy them, (The
Roman Empire, past Roman Catholic Popes, European
Kings, Czars of Russia, Hitler of Germany and now
the Arab/Islamic nations)? - The answer to this question lies in the spiritual
war that exists between God and Satan. Satan (the
god of this world) wants to destroy Gods
chosen people who were CHOSEN to bring in the
SAVIOR JESUS! (Big problemthe Jews as a nation
rejected Jesus) - God has promised that there will always be a
remnant of His chosen people on the earth! And
someday (in the last days) the nation of Israel
will finally recognize Jesus as their Messiah!
God told Abraham Gen. 123 I will bless those
who bless you, And I will curse him who curses
you And in you all the families of the earth
shall be blessed."
10Israel to Return to their Land
- In 1948 Israel became a nation once again after
nearly 1900 years in exile. According to prophesy
they will remain now until the Messiah comes. - The conflict is the enemies of Israel have pledge
to wipe them off the map of the world. This
hostility is fueled from Satanic hatred through a
false religion that claims Judaism is wrong. - Iraqs role has been to partner with other
Islamic nations in a confederacy to destroy
Israel. However, now since Saddam Hussein is
gone, and in agreement with prophesy, Iraq is not
a participant in the final war of Gog and Magog.
What is Gog and Magog?
11- Question "What are Gog and Magog?"Answer
Prophetically, Gog will be the leader of a great
army that attacks the land of Israel in the end
times. Gog is described as "the prince of Rosh,
Meshech, and Tubal" from the north, "the land of
Magog" (Ezekiel 382-3). The prophet Ezekiel
prophetically describes Gog attacking Israel with
a powerful force (Ezekiel chapters 3839).
According to this prophecy of Ezekiel, Gog will
be defeated by God Himself on the mountains of
Israel. The slaughter will be so great it will
take seven months to bury all of the dead
(Ezekiel 3912). The book of Revelation also
mentions Gog and Magog (Revelation 207-8). The
prophecy in Revelation is essentially a
restatement of Ezekiel's prophecy.Magog was a
grandson of Noah (Genesis 102). The descendants
of Magog settled to the far north of Israel,
likely in Europe and northern Asia (Ezekiel
382). Magog seems to be used to refer to
"northern barbarians" in general, but likely also
has a connection to Magog the person. The people
of Magog are described as skilled warriors
(Ezekiel 3815 393-9). The book of Revelation
uses Ezekiel's prophecy about Magog to portray a
final end-times attack on the nation of Israel
(Revelation 208-9).
12The History of the World began in the Middle East
and it will conclude there

Other Islamic nations
- The Garden of Eden most likely was located in
Iraq. - The final conflict of this age involves Jerusalem
in the battle of Armageddon. - A supernatural intervention will occur by God to
prevent Gog and Magog (and allies) from
destroying Israel (Ezekiel 37-39). - These prophecies written thousands of years ago
are being fulfilled in today's headlines.
13There is also another hidden war going on behind
the news
- Muslims are turning to Christ in large numbers
for the first time since Islam has dominated the
Arab world. - There are fantastic reports of conversions,
visions, and dreams, as literally hundreds and
thousands across the Middle East are turning the
Jesus. - This is also true in Iraq and most of these
conversions have occurred after 9/11!

the Middle East Will Change Your Future Joel C.

14Jews are turning to Christ in preparation of His
return
- Many Jews are realizing the prophecies of the
Messiah have been fulfilled in this Jewish
Carpenter named Jesus. - The Jewish nation is experiencing dramatic and
prophetic prosperity with peace while at the
same time continual and growing threat of
annihilation from its enemies.
Turning to Christ
Destruction
Peace
Two Prophetic End of Age issues for Israel...
15Russia is interwoven today with Iran, (Syria,
Libya , Ethiopia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia) and the
coalition of Islamic nations surrounding Israel.
Israel is indeed the Epicenter of the worlds
attention because there is far more at stake than
land, peoples, and oil, it is a Gods Issue!
16Iraq
- Saddam Hussein had painted on one of his palace
ceilings a depiction of him riding into Jerusalem
on a white horse with the Islamic armies
destroying Israel. - Yet, the prophetic picture of Ezekiel does not
include this long time enemy of Israel in the
alliance with Gog and Magog. - There is another picture
17Iraq aligns with the West, Israel, Egypt,
Morocco, and prospers in the end times
- One prophetic picture describes the return of the
city of Babylon to prestige and greatness. The
nation of Iraq being restored to prosperity and
growth. - Iraq will form a strong, stable, and decisive
central government. Iraqs military will succeed,
the insurgency will be crushed and support for it
will evaporate, and foreign terrorists will stop
flowing into the country. - In short, Iraq will emerge as an oil superpower,
rivaling Saudi Arabia. - The above nations are not destroyed with Gog and
Magog and her allies
Iraq rebuilt prospering
18Right nowIn 2008 Iraqi and the US coalition
forces are winning the war.
- The people of Iraq are turning in the extremists,
Al Qaeda and other radical groups are losing
support all across the nation. As one military
intelligence officer wrote That is why we have
won this war already and it is just a matter of
time with continued withdrawing supportI think
the Iraqi government can handle it, actually. - Iraqs military is beginning to exert its muscle
and authority in Basra, Mosul, and other
terrorist breeding grounds. - The Iraq economy is growing exponentially as one
America Pilot reported, the night lights were
scattered and few, today the lights reveal
cities.
19The Temple Mount the Middle East Trigger Point
- The Third Temple will be re-built however, every
Muslim Nation has vowed to fight to the death if
it is donewhy? A third Temple would strongly
validate Judaism and their Old Testament claims
verses the Islamic claims and the Koran. - The Second Coming of Christ is portrayed by Him
riding on a white horse with the armies of the
Lord by His side (Rev. 1911). He is coming to
Israel to defeat the armies of the antichrist
arrayed again to destroy the Jewish homeland. - Ultimately Jesus is coming to THE THIRD TEMPLE
from which He will reign for a 1,000 years on
earth.
20From Heavens Point of View
- General Georges Sada reports that Muslims in Iraq
are turning to Christ. (Epicenter pp 203) - A small revival has occurred since 2002 because
the fall of Saddam Hussein, the window of
religious freedom, and the people being turned
off to radical Islam. - Where only a handful of Christians existed now
ten thousand do and many have gone public. - Remarkable stories of healings, visions, and
dreams have also brought about conversions. Many
Muslims have reported having dreams of Jesusthen
coming to Him. - The War from Gods Eternal perspective has a
different motive God not only wants a tyrant and
mass murderer removed, religious freedom, and a
threat to peace in the Middle East gone, most
importantly He wants people to find Christ and
salvation!
21Conclusion
- No matter what side one was on concerning the
Iraq war there are eternal values in the lives of
Muslims turning to Christ as a result. This is
far more important than the temporal issues we
are fighting over. - Prophetic fulfillment is also in play considering
that Iraq is NOT a part of the Russian Iranian
alliance that will lead to Gog and Magog battle
predicted by Ezekiel 37-39. - And finally, the Iraqi war and subsequent
occupation although difficult is now turned in
favor of the coalition forces because Iraqis have
turned against Islamic extremism. The Iraqi army
has also responded to become strong enough to
defend and provide for its own security.
