Frame RelayCabling

• Use Cisco X.21 cables
• connect DCE cables to serial ports 0 and 1 of the
  switch
• connect DTE cables to serial ports 0 of FRADs A
  and B
• connect DCE and DTE cables back-to-back FRAD A
  to serial 0 and FRAD B to serial 1

Frame RelayDiagnostics

• Important keepalive on the switch must be bigger
  (15) than on FRADs (default value 10)
• On FRADs
• show interface serial 0 check if LMI
  is exchanged
• show frame-relay lmi as above
• show frame-relay pvc check if FRAD
  knows about PVC
• show frame-relay map check if DLCI
  is mapped to IP
• On the switch (additionally)
• show frame-relay route check how
  frames are switched
• From FRAD A ping 194.1.1.2Does it work?
