10
Family Requirements

    for your student.
  • Meet greet student once matched.
  • Invite student to interact with you and your
family in any special occasions or even on your
    everyday activities (i.e. lunch, dinner,
shopping, birthdays, etc.) at least once a month
during the semester or even celebrate your
    student's birthday.
  • Expose your student to as many San Angelo and/or
    ASU activities as possible!

Student Requirements
  • Genuine interest in having a host family

  • Provide housing for you
  • Drive you around
  • Invite you home for the holidays

12
Benefits to Students
  • The most important parts of this program are
the benefits you will acquire by establishing a
friendship with your host family and the
knowledge and support they will provide for you
as you adjust to your new settings.

13
Student Organization
  • The need to develop other skills which may not be
taught directly in the classroom (i.e.
    interpersonal relations, delegation, motivation,
    etc.)
  • The effective development of these other skill
areas can be just as important to your eventual
career success as the skills you learn in the
    classroom.
  • Once the organization is established students
    will prioritize needs for first-generation
students and together we will work to help bring
support and academic success to first-generation
    students.
