Audio Expander channel routing

• After all Individual channels are set in system
  installation and Microphone Management Channel
  Routing and level settings must be set in the
  Audio Expander Setup Menu.
• For channel routing details look into the DCN
  Next Generation Installation and User
  Instructions manual.
• Corresponding the rang order of seat numbers in
  Notebook of Microphone Management the channels
  are available as follows
• Channel 0Floor (can never be changed)
• Channel 1seat 1 (corresponding the Notebook rang
  order of Individual channel).
• Channel 2seat 2 (corresponding the Notebook rang
  order of Individual channel).
• Channel 3seat 3 (corresponding the Notebook rang
  order of Individual channel).
• REMARK If Interpreter channels are used then the
  first individual channel number starts after the
  last Interpreter channel number.
• To set output levels go to menu 4C Level of the
  Audio Expander.
• To adjust all outputs to the same output level
  set output levels as follows
• Floor channel to -16dB
• Individual output channels to 6dB

Audio Expander output contact Threshold Settings

• The next step is to configure the threshold
  Settings in the Audio Expander.
• For each output channel of the audio expander
  there is one output contact that will be closed
  depending on the threshold level.
• For instance
• If a channel is set with a threshold of -40dB and
  the signal level of the microphone is higher,
  than the corresponding output contact will be
  closed. If the signal level is lower than this,
  the output contact will be open.
• This output contact can be used e.g. for starting
  and stopping a recorder.
• Depending on the acoustical environment
  individual units will need there own threshold
  level.
• In menu 4D Rec Threshold of the Audio Expander
  output channels 1 till 4 can be set with their
  own threshold.
• Threshold levels are
• Continue (there is no threshold so output contact
  will be closed)
• - 60 dB (is the lowest threshold level)
• - 50 dB
• - 40 dB
• - 35 dB
• - 30 dB
• - 25 dB
• - 20 dB
• - 15 dB
• - 10 dB (is the highest threshold level)

Courtroom application with Voice activation

• The courtroom application can also be used in
  Voice activation mode as described in the DCN
  Next Generation Microphone Management Software
  User manual.
• The extra add-on functions for courtroom with use
  of voice activation are
• Auto mute of delegates microphone when chairman
  speaks (Auto Priority function).
• Dipswitch S600 switch 1 ON Audio Priority
  function activated.
• The Priority tone off Auto Priority function can
  be set in setup menu 4E.

Camera Control in a Courtroom application with
Voice activation

• Automatic Camera Control (ACC) with use of the
  standard Camera Control application modules for
  Stand Alone and PC controlled systems.
• To be able to use ACC based on voice levels it
  will be necessary to set the Threshold and
  Timeout for the Chairman's and Delegates
  Microphones.
• Threshold and Timeout settings can be configured
  in the Microphone Management Application
• Selectable values are
• Threshold selectable between 1 and 16383. The
  Camera will be focus on that speaker only when
  that threshold is reached.
• Depending on the acoustical environment the
  chairman unit will need his own threshold
  independent of all delegate units.
• Recommended 2000 for the chairman position and
  150 for the delegate position.
• Timeout selectable between 1 and 9000
  milliseconds (Default 2000). The Camera will
  switch over after a silence of the selected time.
• Remark No other microphone can be active before
  the timeout of the chairman microphone is over.
