A non-profit maritime organization established
to provide the Alaska maritime community
information, communications and services to
ensure safe, secure, efficient and
environmentally responsible maritime operations.

The United States Coast Guard is a military,
multi-mission, maritime service and one of the
nations five Armed Services. Its mission is to
protect the public, the environment, and U.S.
economic interests in the nations ports and
waterways, along the coast, on international
waters, or in any maritime region as required to
support national security.

  positions at interval positions appropriate to
  deter transportation security incidents. The
  Secretary may use existing maritime organizations
  to collect and monitor information under the
  system
