Technical Status (from KTN)

• V1.1 will be a working, installable, configurable
  and reliable version of V1.0
• Currently integrating refactored DSA component
  which includes better access to Solar/STP data
• Bug fixes being added continuously
• (V1.0.1 imminent)
• Documentation template complete
• and real docs starting to appear
• Need to radically simplify software.astrogrid.org
  before V1.1 release
• User docs needed
• starting to appear (on Wiki)

Technical Priorities for Cycle02 (from KTN)

• Complete automated installation and configuration
  tool
• 80 done already, needs completing
• Add IVOA compliant Single Signon capability to
  components
• including Authentication passing
• Add IVOA-compliant VOStore interface to our
  FileManager and FileStore layers
• in time for ADASS and interoperability demo
• Raise ACR to "fully deployable" status
• Add complex clientside "applets" to Workbench
• Drag and Drop capability
• Query Builder
• Workflow Builder
• Add support for IVOA compliant "VO Support
  Interfaces" to as many components as possible

IVOA AstroGrid involvement

• AstroGrid lags in all other areas
• No input to standards processes
• No reference developments
• Not much recent involvement of AstroGrid
  scientists
• Not enough AstroGrid technicians involved
• Science questions
• E.g. scientists will never want to fire off
  queries to other than known and pre-selected
  datasets
• Bob Hanisch in VOQL workgroup
• Rejected idea of one query to many databases
• Had to back down so feature will not be included
  in design of ADQL v1.0
• BUT this was a key requirement of early
  AstroGrid science cases is it needed or not?
